Mail Server

These are standard mail providers which send messages on notifications to a given email address about any changes regarding SLAs, or issues and projects.

Here we have two options:

  1. Jira Mail Provider, or
  2. Custom Mail Provider. 

By clicking the Add button on the right-hand side of the initial page, you start to create your Mail Notification Provider.

Creating a Mail Notification Provider:

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.
  2. Choose the cog icon> Add-ons. Select SLA PowerBox > Notification Providers to open the SLA Notification Providers page.
    Tip: Keyboard shortcutg + g + start typing notification providers...
  3. Click the Add Provider button.  
  4. Select Mail Server

  5. Edit the Name for the notification and/or the Description and/or other fields which are listed and described below.
  6. Confirm with the Save button.

Configuration Fields:

Provider Name - It is a Notification Provider display name and allows you to identify your notification.

Description - A short description of your notification.

Email prefix - It's a prefix that will be prepended to all outgoing email subjects.

Host - It allows you to choose a provider (added in the Notification Providers tab).

Port- It is the SMTP port. For the Jira Mail Provider, it is necessary to update the SMTP mail server.
In order to do so choose System > Mail > Outgointg Mail and then enter the requested infromation

Username - Enter the address display username.

Password - Enteryour password.

TLS - When

You can test the connection with your mail server and check if the notifications will be send properly by clicking the Test Connection button.

you tick the TLS checkbox, the communication with the email server is encrypted with TLS

. if not, it is encrypted with SSL by default
