Notification Schemes define notification types. The process of creating a notification scheme is quick and simple, and gives you the possibility to create and send your own notification wherever and whenever you want.
To create a notification scheme:
1. In the notification schemes screen, choose Add.
2. On the next page, enter the scheme's name and description.
3. Confirm with the Create button.
By selecting the Notifications on the right-hand side, you add a notification to a scheme. They are linked, just as a scheme is tied with an SLA agreement. Once you have created a scheme, you have it ready to use with a chosen notification template.
When you create a new notification scheme, that scheme is created with one of its own SLA types. The available types define when a notification will be sent.
These types are:
- SLA started,
- SLA restarted,
- SLA resumed,
- SLA paused,
- SLA cancelled,
- SLA finished,
which are standard types connected with the SLA status, and:
- SLA breached,
- SLA remaining time,
- SLA remaining time in percent.
SLA Breached means exceeding the time defined in SLA Goals. When the SLA is breached the SLA field turns red. SLA remaining time and SLA remaining time in percent refer to the remaining time in a specific issue. When the time or any settings change, the notification is sent.
At some point you have to add the recipient of your message. You can add not only yourself or the project roles as recipients, but also groups of users. It is convenient and effective as everyone involved will receive the message.
In order to see all the available recipient options:
1. In the notification schemes screen, select Notifications.
2. Click Add recipient in the Operations column.
3. Confirm your choice with the Add recipient button.
