Mail Server

These are standard mail providers which send messages on notifications to a given email address about any changes regarding SLAs, or issues and projects.

Here we have two options:

  1. Jira Mail Provider, or
  2. Custom Mail Provider. 

By clicking the Add button on the right-hand side of the initial page, you start to create your Mail Notification Provider.

Creating a Mail Notification Provider

  1. Log in as a user with the 'Jira Administrators' global permission.

  2. Navigate to Admin menu →  Manage apps. Select SLA PowerBox → Notification Providers to open the SLA Notification Providers page.
    Tip: Keyboard shortcutg + g + start typing notification providers...

  3. Click the Add Provider button.  

  4. Select Mail Server → Next.

  5. Fill in your SMTP mail server's details.

6. Confirm with the Create button.

Configuration Fields

Provider Name - It is a Notification Provider display name and allows you to identify your notification.

Description - A short description of your notification.

Email prefix - It's a prefix that will be prepended to all outgoing email subjects.

Host - It allows you to choose a provider (added in the Notification Providers tab).

Email address - Email address from which the messages will be sent.

Username - Enter the address username.

Password - Enter your password.

Port - It Please note that the Port field is the SMTP port. For the Jira Mail Provider, it is necessary to update the SMTP mail server.
In order to do so choose navigate to System > Mail > Outgointg → Outgoing Mail and then enter the requested infromationinformationIf you are not sure how to configure Jira's SMTP server, refer to Atlassian documentation. The link is available at the bottom of this page. 

TLS - When you tick the TLS checkbox, the communication with the email server is encrypted with TLS security protocol. If not checked - it is encrypted with SSL protocol by default. 

Test connection - By clicking this button you You can test the connection with your mail server and check if the notifications will be send properly by clicking the Test Connection button.
