To begin the configuration process, you have to be registered in the SMS API portal which allows you to generate your token requested for authorization. You can do it here.
Adding an SMS API Provider:
- Log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.
- Choose the cog icon> Add-ons. Select SLA PowerBox > Notification Providers to open the SLA Notification Providers page.
Tip: Keyboard shortcut: g + g + start typing notification providers... - Click the Add Provider button.
- Select SMS / REST API Gateway
- Click the Next button.
- Select the SMS API provider.
- Confirm with the Next button.
- Fill in all required fields which are listed and described below.
- Save the changes with the Create button.
Whenever you create an SMS API provider, your Authorization field shows automatically the default authorization type. Since two authorization types are available, you can decide which of them is more suitable for you.
These are:
- Basic authorization which is based on your SMS API Username and Password:
- Token authorization which requires a unique token from the message provider:
Configuration fields:
Provider Name - It is a Notification Provider display name and allows you to identify your notification.
Description - a short description of your notification.
Authorization type - select from two authorization types: basic and token.
Username - enter your username.
Password - enter your password.
Token - It is a SMS API token required for authorization.
Number from - is the name specified and sent to you by this provider.
User phone key - is the name that uniquely identifies the user's phone number and has to be specified in: User Management > Edit User Properties > Add User Property.
