Notification Provider specifies the method of informing users about their SLAs. It may be defined as a communication channel.

These include configuring an already existing mail provider, creating a new custom SMS provider, and adding Slack or Hipchat as notification providers.

Using Slack, Hipchat or working constantly with the mobile phone in your hand? This feature will always keep you informed about your SLAs.


Adding a Provider:

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.
  2. Choose the cog icon> Add-ons. Select SLA PowerBox > Notification Providers to open the SLA Notification Providers page.
    Tip: Keyboard shortcutg + g + start typing notification providers...
  3. Click the Add Provider button.  
  4. Select you Provider type. There are four options available. 



  5. Confirm your choice with the Next button. 
  6. You will be redirected to the Create Notification Provider page. Follow the configuration steps specified for each Provider type. 





Editing a Provider:

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.
  2. Choose the cog icon> Add-ons. Select SLA PowerBox > Notification Providers to open the SLA Notification Providers page.

  3. Select Edit in the Operations section
  4. Confirm with the Save button.

Changing the Provider

When editing the Provider you can change it only within one Provider type, i.e. one SMS provider to another SMS provider. You cannot change Providers between different types. 


Deleting a Provider:

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.
  2. Choose the cog icon> Add-ons. Select SLA PowerBox > Notification Providers to open the SLA Notification Providers page.

  3. Select Delete in the Operations section. 
  4. Confirm with the Delete button. 



Disabling a Provider:

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.
  2. Choose the cog icon> Add-ons. Select SLA PowerBox > Notification Providers to open the SLA Notification Providers page.

  3. Select Disable in the Operations section.   
  4. Confirm with the Disable button. 

Enabling a Provider:

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.
  2. Choose the cog icon> Add-ons. Select SLA PowerBox > Notification Providers to open the SLA Notification Providers page.

  3. Select Enable in the Operations section.   
  4. Confirm with the Enable button. 



Sending test notifications

By selecting the Test Notification option, you check if the notifications will be sent properly. Below you can find different configuration screens. They may vary depending on the previously chosen Provider. 

Sending / Configuring a text notification using a Provider:

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.
  2. Choose the cog icon> Add-ons. Select SLA PowerBox > Notification Providers to open the SLA Notification Providers page.

  3. Select Send test notification in the Operations section. 
  4. Configure your test Notification fields.
  5. Confirm with the Send button.

Configuration fields

  1. Phone number - enter the number to which the message will be sent. 
  2. Issue key - enter a sample issue key (e.g. "TS-01") into the Issue Key field.  If you add tags to the message, you can preview them using data from a sample issue.
  3. SLA field - select an SLA field that will be shown in the notification preview.
  4. Message - enter the text of your notification here. You can add numerous variables (tags) that will be uploaded automatically from Jira. 
    To view the list of tags, click on the  icon. 
  5. Email address  - enter the email address to which the notification will be sent. 
  6. Subject - the subject of your notification. This will be visible in the recipient's mailbox.

  7. Email format - text/plain means that the email will be composed of a plain text, without any formatting. The text/html option allows to add the HTML formatting.
