As a Jira Administrator, you can access the list of all the secure fields by navigating to Apps → Secure Fields Administration.

This Admin menu was designed to give Administrators an overview of all the secure fields in the current instance and to simplify adding and/or removing the secure fields in multiple projects.

Additionally, there are two sorting options available: 

  • sorting by secure field
  • sorting by the project



Add a new secure field

  1. Navigate to  Apps → Secure Fields Administration from the top bar menu.
  2. Click Add Secure Field button in the top right-hand corner of the page. 

  3. Fill in the field name & type and select the projects to which you want to apply the field. 

    You can add a secure field to multiple projects at once. 


  4. Confirm by clicking Create button. 


Rename a secure field

  1. Navigate to  Apps → Secure Fields Administration from the top bar menu.
  2. Select grouping by Field in the top right-hand corner of the page. 
  3. Locate the needed secure field → click on three horizontal dots → Rename.
  4. Enter a new name and click Rename button.

Delete a secure field

To completely remove a secure field from the instance: delete a secure field from the project configuration page, then proceed to delete a field from the Administration menu. 

  1. Navigate to  Apps → Secure Fields Administration from the top bar menu.
  2. Select grouping by Project in the top right-hand corner of the page. 

  3. Locate the needed secure field → click on three horizontal dots → Delete.
