In order to be a member of an existing Slack workspace, you will have to join one first. Create a new workspace or find an existing one in Slack to integrate it with our app. 

In this notification provider, everything happens on a workspace which is a group of people using Slack together. For this reason it is best to add our notification app to your Slack channels and workspaces. You can install it by clicking the Add to Slack button.

Adding a Slack Channel Provider:

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.
  2. Choose the cog icon> Add-ons. Select SLA PowerBox > Notification Providers to open the SLA Notification Providers page.

  3. Click the Add Provider button.  
  4. Select Slack Channel.
  5. Fill in all required fields which are listed and described below.
  6. Confirm your choice with the Create button.  



Configuration Fields:

Provider Name - It is a Notification Provider display name and allows you to identify your notification.

Description - A short description of your notification.

Slack application - You can install it by clicking the Add to Slack button to add our notification app to your Slack channels and workspaces.

Token - It is a Slack token required for authorization. In this case the authorization is based on a Slack token. The required token should appear on your screen after the installation of the app.

Channel -  It is a Slack channel to which the notification will be sent. 

Username - Enter the bot's display username.

As user - When creating a Slack provider, you have to decide if you want the notification to be sent by a user or by a bot.
If the Username field will be filled in and the As a user field will be marked false, the message will be sent by a bot with the name you have previously entered.

Test token - You can test your Slack token and check if the notifications will be send properly by clicking this button.
