Notification Schemes define notification types and gather different sets of messages. When creating a Notification Scheme, you can assign it to one or more SLA Agreements.

The process of creating a notification scheme is quick and simple and gives you the possibility to create and send your own notification wherever and whenever you want.

Creating a Notification Scheme

  1. Log in as a user with the 'Jira Administrators' global permission.

  2. Navigate to Admin menu →  Manage apps. Select SLA PowerBox → Notification Schemes to open the SLA Notification Schemes page.
Tip: Keyboard shortcutg + g + start typing notification schemes ...

  3. Click the Add Notification Scheme button.

  4. Fill in Name and Description of the scheme.

  5. Confirm your choice with the Create button.

By selecting Notifications on the right-hand side, you add a notification to a scheme. They are linked, just as a scheme is tied with an SLA agreement.
Once you have created a scheme, you can use it with a chosen Notification Template.

Adding a Notification to a Scheme

  5. Select an SLA status type from the list.

SLA status types define when a Notification will be sent.

Standard types connected with the SLA status:

  • SLA started

  • SLA restarted

  • SLA resumed

  • SLA paused

  • SLA canceled

  • SLA finished

  • SLA breached

  • SLA remaining time

  • SLA remaining time in percent

SLA Breached means exceeding the time defined in SLA Goals. When the SLA is breached the SLA field turns red. SLA remaining time and SLA remaining time in percent refer to the remaining time in a specific issue. When the time or any settings change the notification is sent.

6. Click the Add button to create the notification and add it to the scheme.

In order to add a notification to a scheme, you have to create a Notification Template with an enabled Provider first.
For more information, refer to the Notification Templates page in the documentation.
