Add an Idea

  1. Log in with your Portal credentials.

  2. Locate the needed project and click Create Idea. Alternatively, you can create an Idea by clicking on '+' sign from the left-hand side menu.

  3. Enter Summary and optional Description.

  4. Add Tags if you want to classify your Idea.

  5. Click '+' to attach additional files.

  6. Confirm with Create button.

(tick) Idea has been created.

Start typing in the My idea is… field at the top of the Portal page to discover ideas similar to yours. You will get top 5 matching ideas which you can explore or/and create a new one.

Edit an Idea

After submission, all Ideas are in the status Draft. An author can edit, remove or drop the Idea. After the Idea has been published by the moderator, the status will change to Published and the author will not have an option to drop the Idea anymore.

View Ideas

Click View Portal to view all published Ideas on the project. Ideas are grouped into sections e.g. My Ideas, Newest, and so on (depending on Portal configuration). To expand the section click on three dots at the bottom.

To access a particular Idea simply click on its name, you will be redirected to the Idea’s page.

You can switch between dark and light modes by clicking on (blue star) icon.

Comment and Vote

You can Vote Up / Down the Idea, leave Comment and Vote Up / Down the comment. Both votes and comments are visible to all Portal users. You can reply to other users' comments, edit or remove your own comments and unvote the Ideas/Comments at any time.

You can classify your comment into one of the following categories:

  • Improvement

  • Question

  • For Moderator

Comments classification is not mandatory. If you believe none of the categories suits your comment - just skip the option.

Mention other users

You can mention someone by typing ‘@' + user_name. The system will suggest users with relevant names including their avatars and roles.

You’ll be able to mention the following people:

  • Idea Author

  • Portal moderators

  • Commenters

  • Users who are authors of other Ideas at the Portal

  • Users who are commenters of other Ideas at the Portal

In case if another user has mentioned you, you will receive an email notification.
