All Secure Fields types can be utilized in Jira Service Management projects and on the Customer Portal.
Secure fields that have "Service Desk Customers" role added to the permission will appear on the specified forms in the Customer Portal.
Make sure to grant Read permission to Service Desk Customers role in order to allow Customer Portal users to utilize secure fields.
Additionally, there are separate permissions introduced for the Customer Portal:
- Create (customer portal) - permission that allows service desk users to add a secure field value while submitting a ticket.
- Edit (customer portal) - permission to allow customers to edit the secure field's value after the ticket was submitted.
Please note: the selected request types only apply to the forms on the Customer Portal. The Jira issue will display all the configured secure fields in the project (unless specific issue types are configured).
Add or Edit the permission
Log in as a user with the JIRA Administrators' global permission.
Navigate to your project → Settings → Apps → Configure Secure Fields.
Click on three dots in the Actions section → Edit.
Grant the desired permissions and save the changes.
